Road to the future with clean diesel technology, HVO, batteries & hydrogen - 2023 and beyond

The main challenge in our market right now is to produce energy without the emission of harmful substances. Switching from the traditional diesel solution to a zero-emission energy supply (ZE: Zero Emission) is obviously a major challenge for a company that has traditionally specialised entirely in diesel engines.

Fortunately, we have made huge strides in recent years in terms of new, clean technologies coming to market. And, of course, we will continue to do so in the coming years in order to continue providing our customers with the most appropriate solutions in the future.

Because we want to actively contribute to an emission-free future in 2030, we offer various cleantech solutions. These solutions include clean Stage V diesel engines that are HVO-capable, hydrogen solutions, battery systems and hybrid light towers. With these energy systems, we help our customers achieve their CO₂ reduction targets.

2022

Name change to Brinkmann & Niemeijer B.V. and launch of slogan 'Energize your Business' - 2022

In recent years, we have been working intensively on the energy transition, what it means for our business and how we can respond to it.

One consequence of this was that we changed our name to Brinkmann & Niemeijer B.V., with the powerful slogan 'Energize your Business', because that is what we stand for.

Founding of Brinkmann & Niemeijer GmbH - 2022

In 2021, after the Benelux, Brinkmann & Niemeijer also became the importer of JCB engines in Germany, with the aim of better positioning ourselves on the German market.

This allows us to have a local presence and work closely with our German customers. This allows us to respond even better to their specific needs and legal requirements.

Importer JCB Power Systems Germany - 2021

In 2021, after the Benelux, Brinkmann & Niemeijer also became the importer of JCB engines in Germany, with the aim of better positioning ourselves on the German market.

This strategic move enables us to offer high-quality JCB engines to our customers in Germany.

2020

Main contractor for DRUPS project VU - 2020

This emergency power project marks an important milestone in our rich history, as it is not only our largest emergency power project to date, but also the first project where we acted as a main contractor.

This project has given us a wealth of experience as a company. It has contributed to our growth and further development.

2020

Series production of military generator sets - 2020

After a thorough process of verification testing and prototype development, we started building the 17 kW generator sets for the Dutch Department of Defence in 2020.

This project marked an important milestone that we had long awaited. We are pleased to supply our product to Defence and contribute to their operational needs for reliable and high-quality generator sets.

2018

First military orders for 3, 6 and 17kW - 2018

The first military orders in 2018 marked the beginning of an exciting period of growth for Brinkmann & Niemeijer.

We are involved in three major projects to develop, manufacture and supply generator sets to meet the highest military requirements. These projects helped us greatly increase our expertise and explore new opportunities. This allows us to continue developing to remain successful in the market in the future.

2017

Himoinsa dealership - 2017

In 2017, we became a dealer of the various products of the Spanish company Himoinsa, such as generators and battery systems.

This allows us to easily adapt a large number of standard products to customers' specific requirements and wishes, if necessary. This flexibility allows us to work more effectively.

2011

Importer JCB Power Systems Benelux - 2011

In 2011, Brinkmann & Niemeijer partnered with JCB Power Systems as importer of JCB engines for the Benelux.

As a result, we have been able to gain an even better position in the market as a company. This strategic partnership has enabled us to strengthen our product offering and improve our competitiveness. Cooperation with JCB Power Systems allows us to offer our customers high-quality solutions based on a JCB engine and adapt to the rapidly changing needs of the market.

2009

Move to new building in Twello - 2009

Over the years, we grew out of our old premises and decided to build new premises close by. In 2009, we moved to our new home.

In it, the offices, warehouse and workshop are combined under one roof. This centralisation allows us to work more efficiently and better meet our customers' needs.

2004

Introduction of the first hybrid - 2004

In 2004, we introduced hybrid generator sets. Although it was not very common at the time, our engineers had the idea of combining a generator set with batteries to use the generator set more efficiently.

This concept was a progressive idea aimed at optimising the performance of our generator sets.

2003

Start of collaboration with Mecc Alte - 2003

Thanks to a close collaboration with UK-based Mecc Alte, entered into in 2003, we are able to work more efficiently and build high-quality generator sets.

Short lines of communication allow us to move quickly and develop high-quality products together.

1992

Relocation from Zutphen to Twello - 1992

After being based in Zutphen for many years, the company decided to relocate in 1992.

We moved our operational base to Twello, where our operations have been taking place ever since and we have continued to grow.

1989

Founding of Brinkmann & Niemeijer Motoren B.V. - 1989

In 1989, we decided to transfer our engine business to a separate limited company. We started focusing entirely on generators, engines and pump sets.

This strategic decision allowed us to further strengthen our expertise in this field and focus on the development and delivery of high-quality energy solutions within inland navigation and various other sectors.

Importer Lister-Petter - 1910

Our business growth increased significantly from the moment we acquired the importer of Lister-Petter, a leading UK manufacturer of diesel engines.

This made us a major player in, in particular, the inland shipping market. This development allowed us to strengthen our position and play a significant role in this sector.

1828

Founding of Brinkmann & Niemeijer - 1828

Almost 200 years ago, Peter Wilhelm Brinkmann founded Brinkmann & Niemeijer, a small iron shop at the time.

Thanks to the mechanisation of agriculture, the company continued to grow and we introduced the first internal combustion engines for various applications.
