Brinkmann & Niemeijer works with a client that manufactures mobile solar generators. The mobile solar generator is used for various applications, such as construction sites, events and telecoms. The set is also used by governments. An auxiliary generator is also placed on the trailer on which the hybrid solar generator is located.

Brinkmann & Niemeijer helped to significantly reduce the lead time for the production of the hybrid solar generator. In the past, there were several challenges, such as loose parts, wiring and last-minute welding. With our new design, we have addressed these factors. A major improvement is the plug & play assembly.

To increase the autonomy of the generator set, we designed a 400-litre fuel tank, unique in the market. It is compactly concealed in the raised rim around the set. This saves precious space in height. By placing the fuel tank under the frame and mounting the muffler on top, we significantly reduced the overall design, a key customer requirement.

To make installation even easier and quicker, we have developed a jig to accurately determine the attachment points and exhaust grommet in the trailer. Moreover, we have added plugs, making everything quick and easy to connect.

The end result is a compactly built generator set that can be easily and quickly installed and connected as a single unit in the solar generator. In practice, it led to significant time savings in the production lead time of the solar generator.
