Working vessels are used on and around the water, e.g. for offshore work, construction projects and maintenance tasks. A continuous power supply is vital to power the heavy machinery, tools and equipment on board the ship. This allows all crucial operations to be carried out efficiently, maximising productivity and ensuring the safety of personnel on board. A stable power supply on working vessels is therefore essential for the success of industrial operations on water.

On the MS IJmeer, a working vessel of de Klerk Werkendam, we installed two 80 kVA Stage V IWA generator sets that can run in parallel. This means one generator can step in when there is a higher power demand. The generator sets are mainly responsible for driving the bow thruster. All functionality and status information of the generator sets can be controlled from the wheelhouse, where there is a panel showing the current status of the sets.
